From June 12–14th, families, neighbors, churches, and friends from near and far are invited to gather for a weekend rooted in history, freedom, family, and community.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is a journey worth honoring and protecting. At Hosanna, a school built by formerly enslaved people to educate future generations, this weekend becomes a living celebration of that powerful legacy.

Throughout the weekend, guests will have opportunities to learn, reflect, celebrate, and connect across generations.

Friday – Legacy Educational Workshop Series
Time: 9:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Location: Havre de Grace Colored School Museum and Cultural Center, 555 Alliance Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078

Kick off the weekend with a full day of engaging workshops, discussions, and learning experiences that explore history, heritage, and the continuing journey toward freedom and opportunity. The day will also feature an VIP evening fundraising reception bringing together community leaders, historians, and supporters of the Hosanna mission.

Saturday – Family Freedom Festival
Time: 12:00 P.M.– 6:00 P.M.
Location: Hosanna School Museum, 2424 Castleton Road, Darlington, Maryland 21034

Our signature celebration day will feature:

•⁠  ⁠Family entertainment and youth activities
•⁠  ⁠Food vendors and community partners
•⁠  ⁠Interactive history experiences
•⁠  ⁠A vibrant festival atmosphere celebrating Black culture, legacy, and joy

Bring your family, invite your friends, and even consider hosting a mini family reunion during this special community gathering.

Sunday – Sunday Gospel Celebration
Time: 5:00 P.M.
Location: Hosanna School Museum, 2424 Castleton Road, Darlington, Maryland 21034

Close the weekend with an uplifting Sunday Gospel Celebration celebrating faith, resilience, and the enduring spirit of freedom through music and fellowship.

This Juneteenth weekend is more than a festival—it is an opportunity to return to history, celebrate our collective journey, and strengthen community for generations to come.
